Lead Platform Engineer Front-end

Job description

ERIKS Digital is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer Front-end to join our E-Commerce team! 

As our  Lead Platform Engineer you will join our E-commerce platform team to support our worldwide E-business activities

and be mainly responsible for developing and improving the customer facing part of the product. This will

involve making architectural choices and design decisions together with leads of various disciplines. You will

work closely together in a scrum team with the Product Owner, back-end developers, designers, QA engineer,

and DevOps.

Furthermore, you will be working with the other Front-end colleagues of ERIKS digital. The Front-end discipline

collaborates to contribute to a seamless customer journey cross product, tackle architectural challenges, and

share knowledge and important learnings between the different product teams.

In the lead position you will take on a leading and mentoring role to support the growth of the FE developers

in the E-Commerce team and drive collaboration with our other product propositions (Country websites,

Guided Buying, Wiki, and Smart Asset Management).

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Translate user stories into production grade React application
  • Define and make architectural choices that will lead to a smart and agile product
  • Build reusable components and Front-end libraries for future use
  • Overcome technical challenges within the Front-end architecture and align on the integrations with our back-end architect
  • Work with the UX team to incorporate customer feedback and create an easy to use and love-able product
  • Work on bugs and customer feedback in a way that makes our customers happy
  • Coaching and mentoring medior FE engineers
  • Improving working principles


We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience with proprietary B2B E-Commerce platforms

o Preferably but not limited to, IBM WebSphere Commerce/HCL Commerce or others like SAP CX, Intershop,

Magento Commerce

  • >3 years of experience in working with React and related technologies. 
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Demonstrable ability to make no-nonsense architectures and software and work on integrations with the backend
  • Experienced in our preferred stack

o JavaScript and Typescript

o React with Create React App

React Native

o Redux with Sagas Workflows

o Styled Components

o Testing with Jest, React Testing Library, and Redux Saga Test Plan

o Yarn/NPM

o Git

  • The following is a plus, but not a hard requirement:

o Experience with Java Server Pages

o Experience in React-Native and/or GraphQL.
